1. Statement of Intent
Fixiz Ltd is committed to conducting its business activities in a manner that protects and enhances the environment. We recognise that construction and maintenance activities can have a significant impact on the environment, and we are committed to minimising these impacts wherever reasonably practicable.
We will comply with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations, including the Environmental Protection Act 1990, the Environment Act 2021, and all relevant waste management regulations.
2. Objectives
Fixiz Ltd will strive to:
- Reduce waste generation and promote reuse and recycling of materials
- Minimise energy and water consumption across all operations
- Prevent pollution to land, air, and water
- Reduce carbon emissions and our overall environmental footprint
- Source materials responsibly and from sustainable suppliers where possible
- Continually improve our environmental performance
3. Waste Management
Fixiz Ltd will:
- Segregate waste on-site into appropriate categories (general, recyclable, hazardous)
- Use only registered waste carriers for waste disposal
- Maintain waste transfer documentation as required by law
- Minimise the use of single-use plastics on site
- Prioritise reuse of materials before disposal
4. Pollution Prevention
All reasonable steps will be taken to prevent pollution, including:
- Containing and disposing of hazardous materials safely
- Using drip trays for plant and equipment with oil or fuel
- Preventing run-off from sites into drainage or watercourses
- Reporting any pollution incidents immediately to the relevant authority
5. Energy and Carbon
- Fixiz Ltd will seek to reduce energy use across offices and on-site operations
- We will promote the use of low-emission and electric vehicles where practicable
- We will consider energy efficiency when procuring plant, equipment, and materials
6. Responsibilities
6.1 Director
- Take overall responsibility for environmental compliance and improvement
- Ensure sufficient resources are available to implement this policy
- Review this policy annually
6.2 Managers and Supervisors
- Implement environmental controls on-site
- Brief operatives on environmental requirements before work begins
- Report any environmental incidents or near-misses promptly
6.3 Employees and Subcontractors
- Follow all environmental procedures and controls
- Segregate and dispose of waste correctly
- Report any environmental issues or concerns to their supervisor
7. Monitoring and Review
Environmental performance will be monitored regularly. This policy will be reviewed annually or following any significant change in legislation, operations, or significant environmental incident.
